The Nineteenth Intercollegiate Ethics Bowl Competition will be held as part of the APPE Annual Meeting in Costa Mesa, Calif. from Feb. 19 to 22, 2015.

The Intercollegiate Ethics Bowl (IEB) is a team competition sponsored by the Association for Practical and Professional Ethics (APPE) with an advanced approach to education in practical and professional ethics for undergraduate students. In September, each team receives a set of 15 cases and must prepare an analysis of each case. The cases cover a range of subject matters, including law, medicine, business, public policy, and personal life. At the competition, a moderator poses questions based on a case taken from that set. A panel of judges queries the teams for further justifications and evaluates their answers. Rating criteria are intelligibility, focus on ethically relevant considerations, avoidance of ethical irrelevance, and deliberative thoughtfulness.
